| SATPA Puller Profile |
| Darrell Plyler It all begins here How old Darrell is depends on the time of day you see him…He may be a kid the morning of a pull but with all the effort he puts in during the day he may be a little older by the end of the day, only to start over again on Sunday. Darrell began pulling in the mid to early ‘90s with other organizations including OTTPA. Of course he was pulling his true passion, a Massey 98. He quickly tired of seeing the “money” pullers outclassing the working guy simply by throwing dollars at the tractors. He voiced his opinion to deaf ears. After many phone calls and the support of some close friends, SATPA was born on July 5th, 1998 with the “Boll Weevil” sled. The rest is history! Darrell is happiest when he hears the words “GREAT TRACK DARRELL” He works hard all week on this and if the weather permits, magic happens! We are fortunate that Darrell has worked to keep our Club affordable to the average puller. He has provided an excellent facility to pull at. When he is not working on the track or running the pull he will take a little time off with his lovely wife Brenda and go to the mountains to unwind. The Plylers have 4 children. Darrell has a son and daughter in Valdosta, Ga. and Brenda has daughter in Youngsville, NC and a son in Garner, NC. He is retired from the US Postal service and Brenda from Duke Power. A little known fact is that Darrell is a Vietnam Vet. Thank you Darrell for your service to our country! I have learned that there are three ways to accomplish something: The right way…the wrong way…and Darrell’s way! Thank you Darrell from the SATPA |
